101 Cohort - Exploring Kingdom Paradigms

Our community creates rhythms that invite participation and life-on-life discipleship. The name Coram Deo is Latin for "in the presence of God." We are continually learning to let Jesus saturate every aspect of our lives. We are part of a larger global Church Network called 24/7 Prayer. Our network is unified by five values: presence, prayer, mission, justice, and joy. These values guide us as we seek to integrate the charismatic, contemplative, missional, and social justice traditions. The value of joy holds this diversity together! The purpose of this Cohort is to orient people to the guiding paradigms and values of our church family. The hope is that by the end of the Cohort, you will have the clarity to discern if God is calling you to practice following Jesus with this Church family! And if not, we hope you will have a healthier framework for discerning what he is calling you into.

HOMEWORK - TIMELINE ACTIVITY

  • Set aside an hour to do this activity before the first session. Watch the 10-minute video to guide you! There is a printable worksheet to copy or use below.

  • You will be asked to share the major themes of your timeline and a couple key stories in 8 minutes at the Cohort meetings.

Additional Support resources:

  • The 6 stages of faith: These come from a book called The Critical Journey. There is a link below to a page that summarizes the model and may give you helpful language as you reflect on your story. This tool is for your reflection, you do not need to share it with anyone else or identify with a specific stage.

  • Primal Question: Another helpful tool is Mike Foster’s new book called 7 Primal Questions. This tool provides insight as to a core attachment theme that you may struggle with and may be a core lie you believe from your timeline. Click below to take his simple free assessment and see what primal attachment question is driving you.
